The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska police

Monday, March 3

8:45 a.m. — While talking to a 14-year-old girl at Onalaska Middle School about a theft, the girl told an officer her 1-year-old sister and 3-year-old brother were home alone. The officer called dispatch. An officer investigated and found the children to be home alone and the home a mess. The children were turned over to Child Protective Services.

Saturday, March 8

11:16 a.m. — A 30-year-old man reported someone busted the left rear view mirror on his car while it was parked overnight on the 300 block of Fourth Avenue South.

Wednesday, March 12

7:49 a.m. — A 37-year-old woman reported someone broke the rear window of her vehicle while it was parked overnight on the 400 block of Quincy Street.

8:29 p.m. — A man, no age or home address given, was arrested on the 500 block of Eighth Avenue North for battery and domestic disorderly conduct for punching a woman in the face and pushing a man down to the ground while fighting. Five individuals were involved when one of them was allegedly trying to reclaim his vehicle.

Friday, March 14

10:25 a.m. — A 17-year-old boy was arrested at Onalaska High School for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, March 15

2:10 p.m. — A 47-year-old woman on the 500 block of Vilas Street reported the front window of her house had been egged the previous evening. She told police it wasn’t the first time and that she suspected friends of her 15-year-old daughter. Police reported the house had been struck with paintballs in February.

5:48 p.m. — A 38-year-old man reported his house on the 700 block of Aspen Valley Road had been egged the previous evening.

3:07 p.m. — A 24-year-old woman reported her car stolen while parked at her residence on the 1000 block of Frances Court. She and her boyfriend had fallen asleep while there were others at the residence and she suspected one of them had stolen it. One car sustained damages when it was sideswiped by the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was found on South 32nd Street in La Crosse, one block away from one of the persons in the home the prior night. Police will seek charges of auto theft, hit and run with property damage and operating after revocation.

Tuesday, March 11

3:20 p.m. — A 10-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services on charges of trying to stab a staff member at Family & Children’s Center and kicking and swearing at staff and police.

4:27 p.m. — A 15-year-old boy was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of battery for hitting another student while on a transport bus to the Family & Children’s Center. He was removed from the facility and referred to juvenile services. A 16-year-old boy was charged with disorderly conduct and battery in the same incident but kept at the facility.

8:42 p.m. — A resident on Laurel Place reported a strange vehicle parked with some kids hanging around it that looked suspicious like they had electronic equipment. Nothing was found when police arrived.

Wednesday, March 12

7:58 p.m. — A woman on the 700 block of Evergreen Drive called police when her 17-year-old daughter was throwing things around and arguing.

Thursday, March 13

2:24 p.m. — A 12-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services for damage to property at the Family & Children’s Center. While being taken to a time-out room, the boy kicked a garbage can and slammed a table into a wall, creating a 3-inch gouge in the drywall.

4:41 p.m. — Police assisted a 2-year-old girl who was choking on an apple and vomiting in pain on the 1900 block of Fauna.

6:39 p.m. — A woman on the 800 block of Evergreen Drive called police because her 14-year-old daughter was yelling and throwing things around the house.

10:35 p.m. — Police assisted a 65-year-old man on 1200 block of Eastwood St. who was disoriented and suffering flu-like symptoms. He was taken to Franciscan Skemp.

Friday, March 14

12:49 a.m. — A 16-year-old boy was picked up while walking on Mill Street and returned to his home on the 100 block of Sheffield Drive. He left his house after a spat with his family about doing his chores and about his schoolwork.

5:55 p.m. — A woman on the 100 block of Legion Street East called police requesting they pick up drug paraphernalia she found while she was cleaning out her ex-boyfriends things.

7:33 p.m. — Police responded to a disturbance at the Burger King after a 19-year-old woman who was an ex-employee, came into the store screaming at an employee. The woman was asked to leave but she stayed in the parking lot telling people not to go into the store.

Saturday, March 15

6:14 a.m. — A 22-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Amy Drive. He and a woman at the apartment were arguing. He went outside and began yelling to her.

6 p.m. — Police responded to a disturbance at a home on the 1500 block of Cliffview Drive due to a 14-year-old boy who was threatening and spitting at people and arguing.

8:35 p.m. — A caller on the 700 block of Cedar Avenue East reported someone was running up to the house, ringing the doorbell and running away. No one was found.

Sunday, March 16

12:14 a.m. — The father of a 14-year-old girl, who was home alone on the 200 block of Anderson Street with two other minors, called police while he was on his way home because the daughter thought she heard someone outside the house.

2:58 a.m. — A 26-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Gregory Street in Onalaska. According to the police report, he had been out drinking with his buddy, came home and started screaming at his girlfriend, who called police. After refusing to go to another residence to sleep, the man was taken to jail.

1:17 p.m. — A 42-year-old Mindoro woman was arrested for disorderly conduct on the 600 block of Amy Drive. She arrived at the apartment and was pounding on the door, yelling and refusing to leave. When police arrived, she was visibly upset and told police she was bi-polar and had not taken her medications and told police she would kill herself.

8:06 p.m. — Police assisted the fire department in response to a carbon monoxide detector going off on the 400 block of First Avenue East.

Monday, March 17

2:01 a.m. — Police assisted Onalaska fire and police departments in a building fire on the 1000 block of Redwood Street.

12:07 a.m. — First responder call on State Road 16 for a person with chest pain.

12:37 a.m. — First responder call on Oak Timber Drive for a person with leg pain.

Wednesday, March 12

9:45 a.m. — Fire call on Market Place for a gas leak.

12:39 p.m. — Fire call on Mickel Road, La Crosse, for a building fire.

2:55 p.m. — First responder call on Grove Street for a person who was choking.

9:01 p.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person injured in a fight.

Thursday, March 13

3:15 a.m. — Fire call and first responder call on Well Street and Oak Avenue North for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

9:28 a.m. — Fire call on Highway 16 for a fire alarm activation that turned out to be a false alarm.

Friday, March 14

12:23 a.m. — First responder call on Highway PH for a person who had overdosed in a possible suicide attempt.

12:11 p.m. — First responder call on Fairfield Street for a person experiencing pain.

Saturday, March 15

2:48 a.m. — First responder call on Quincy Street for a person with a possible broken ankle.

6:48 p.m. — First responder call on Oak Avenue South for a person who was vomiting.

Sunday, March 16

12:04 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person with a breathing problem.

3:59 a.m. — First responder call on 10th Avenue North for a person having difficulty breathing.

10:46 a.m. — Fire call on Highway 16 for a fire.

2:26 p.m. — Fire call on Highway 16 for a call that was cancelled while en route.

Monday, March 17

2:02 a.m. — Fire call on Redwood Street for a building fire.

7:51 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for an unresponsive man.

12:03 p.m. — First responder call on Rudy Street for a person who was ill.

3:28 p.m. — First responder call on Miller Road for a person with a heart problem.

3:44 p.m. — First responder call on Cliffview Avenue for a person choking.

4:49 p.m. — First responder call on Gordon Lane for a person with chest pain.

11:55 p.m. — First responder call on Wilson Street for a person having trouble breathing.

12:44 p.m. — Fire call on the 100 block of Roberts Street East for a downed power line.

Monday, March 10

10:11 a.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Buckingham Lane for a person with a breathing problem.

5:26 p.m. — First responder call on the 7000 block of West Lake Forest Drive for a person injured in a fall.

Tuesday, March 11

7:23 a.m. — First responder call on the 1000 block of Remington Drive for a person with an illness.

12:16 p.m. — First responder call on the 7000 block of West Lake Forest Drive for a person injured in a fall.

Wednesday, March 12

5:03 p.m. — First responder call on the 2000 block of Pleasant Drive South for a person with a breathing problem.

5:58 p.m. — Fire call on the 100 block of Wall Street for a carbon monoxide alarm.

9:27 p.m. — First responder call on the 700 block of McHugh Road for a person with a breathing problem.

Thursday, March 13

7:48 a.m. — Fire call on the 500 block of Main Street South for a fire detector activation. There was no fire.

8:57 a.m. — First responder call on the 8000 block of West Lytle Road for a person with an illness.

4:42 p.m. — First responder call on the 1900 block of Fauna Street for a person choking on food.

10:36 p.m. — First responder call on the 1200 block of Eastwood Street for a person with an illness.
