The Luther Light for March is Erica Babinec, daughter of Joel and Chris Babinec of Onalaska. Erica attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School before she attended Luther.

Erica has been involved in many groups and organizations at Luther including WINGS Team, Pro-life Knights and Cantate choir. For the past two years she has been a member of National Honor Society and is currently on Student Council.

Erica has been very active in sports. She has participated in basketball (9-12), cross country (9-12), and track (9-12). Erica was first-team all-conference in cross country (9-12) and in basketball (11), as well as track (9-11) in multiple events. In addition, she was second-team all-conference in basketball (10), and track in various events, as well as honorable mention in track.

Erica volunteers at her church’s child care. She has been a counselor at Camp Bird. Her hobbies include playing sports, reading and hanging out with her friends.

Next year, Erica plans to attend Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn., to pursue a degree in elementary education.
