ONALASKA — Yvonne Spreiter, 89, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Onalaska United Methodist Church in Onalaska. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to services Thursday at the church. A full obituary will be provided for Thursday’s Tribune by Dickinson Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Rosemary ‘Rosie’ I. Schneider

ONALASKA — Rosemary “Rosie” I. Schneider, 78, of Onalaska died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Kenosha, Wis., to Florendo “Tap” and Dorothy (Smith) Bellaver. Rosie was a caregiver her entire life, always willing to help her family or anyone who needed it, and always with a smile. After graduating from nursing school, she worked at Grandview Hospital and the La Crosse Clinic. She also worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center for over 20 years before retiring. After retiring she worked for La Crosse County as a visiting nurse and also as one of the lunch ladies at St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School. Rosie also was very active with the La Crosse Community Theatre.

She is survived by five children, William of Madison and his daughter Elizabeth, Timothy (special friend Shelly Valentine) of La Crosse and his children, Andrew, Anthony and Jordan, David (Sheila) of Onalaska and their children, Nathan (Jenna), Jena, and Christian, Margaret “Peggy” (Jose) Cornejo of Sussex, Wis., and their children, Jose and Natasha, and Jim (special friend Teresa Hettman) of La Crosse and his son Jeremy Johnson;, a granddaughter, Cecelia (Jawad) Nashatizadeh; a great-granddaughter, Mamie Averill-West; a great-grandson, Myles “Tony” Averill-West; and a brother, Tom Bellaver of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Levi Schneider; her second husband, Richard Erickson; two daughters, Mary West and Theresa Schneider; two sons, Anthony and Daniel Schneider; a granddaughter, Brigetta Averill; and a sister, Kathy Bellaver.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska. The Rev. Patrick Umberger will officiate. Burial will be in Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of Onalaska on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Riverfront Inc. in memory of Rosie’s sister, Kathy.

Eloise ‘Tootie’ E. Jensen

SPARTA/CATARACT, Wis. — Eloise “Tootie” E. Jensen, 91, of Sparta died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born on Oct. 26, 1916, in the town of New Lyme, Monroe County, Wis., to Edward and Myrtle (Chambers) Bodette. She grew up in the New Lyme area and attended school in New Lyme and also attended various other schools in Monroe County.

She married Kermit Jensen on Oct. 20, 1934. They farmed in the town of Grant, and then in 1947 they moved to a farm in the town of Little Falls. Eloise drove school bus for 29 years.

She was a member of Cataract United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Gerald (Linda) Jensen of La Crosse, Donald (Valetta) Jensen of Oswego, Ill., and Sue Ann (James) Tracy of Onalaska, Wis.; six grandchildren, Tracy (David) Raatz of Whiting, Wis., Adam Jensen of La Crosse, Robin (David) Olson of Janesville, Wis., Douglas (Cecelia) Jensen of Plainfield, Ill., Garrett Tracy of Onalaska and Ryan (Selina) Tracy of Stoughton, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Michael and Natasha, Jacob, Jackson, Damion and Lane; her uncle, Clifford Chambers of Mount Ida, Ark.; a brother, Douglas Bodette of Texas; and a sister, Charlotte Stacy of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit, on March 20, 1991; a brother, Edward; and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cataract United Methodist Church, Cataract, with the Rev. Benito Agtarap officiating. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery, Cataract. Friends my call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
