We have lived in Onalaska for more than 30 years and have often been in contact with the mayor and council members regarding city planning, development and zoning issues over this period of time. Mike Giese is one of the council members that we have talked to regarding such issues.

We are impressed with his willingness to listen to our questions and concerns. He also asks questions to be sure a concern is clearly understood. He then takes the time to research by checking into city ordinances, state statutes and speaking to people on both sides of the issue.

He always responds in a timely fashion with objective information for us to consider as well as ways to properly pursue resolution of an issue.

We have also been impressed with Mike’s success in both private and public endeavors. His experience in business, education and government has demonstrated his intelligence, integrity and loyalty, as well as his communication and problem-solving skills.

He has demonstrated concern for planned development and growth in the city of Onalaska as well as for the environment of the entire Coulee Region. The decisions he has made as chairperson/member of city subcommittees and as a member of the Onalaska Common Council have been based on knowledge of all aspects of city and state government ordinances, laws, and statutes.

His sense of financial responsibility is more than apparent in his dedication to the citizens and taxpayers of Onalaska. He supports smart growth for our city while making sure that our tax dollars are well spent and tax rates are kept at affordable rates for all, especially our senior citizens.

We know that Mike Giese is the best choice for mayor of Onalaska. We need his business and managerial experience, his knowledge of local, state and federal government, his communication and problem-solving skills and his ability to deal fairly and intelligently with city issues.
