In a country of violence, profanity, deceit and immoral behavior, a symbol of a person’s faith or spirituality can give comfort.
Professor Barnes, the cross on Star Hill can mean many different things to many different people, all taxpayers. I would like to thank you for the opportunity to turn your opposition into a positive action. This morning, I built a 10-foot lighted cross to display in my yard. You can try to take one cross away, but you can’t take away the love and peace in my heart.
I hope more people display symbols of their spirituality, whatever they may be. Professor Barnes, I would suggest a better way to make a positive impact, would be to watch television from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Maybe you can do something about the violence, profanity and everything else immoral on those programs.
To everyone, whatever your beliefs are, please express them by displaying a sign or symbol of faith.
