This judicial campaign is between the people of Wisconsin and Michael Gableman, it is not a race between two candidates. On one side, there are voters who expect the justices of the Wisconsin Supreme court to be unbought and untainted by out-of-state money.

On the other side is Michael Gableman, the candidate of at least three questionable organizations — the Coalition for America’s Families, the Club for Growth Wisconsin and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.

It is estimated that over half of the money, maybe $3 million, that these groups will spend to elect Gableman will come from out-of-state companies led by Wal-Mart, Home Depot and international pharmaceutical companies. Some companies are now avoiding paying Wisconsin taxes and they want favorable rulings from the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

They set up dummy corporations to move Wisconsin profits out of state, avoid paying taxes, and transfer the tax burden to the rest of us. These companies need to make sure that the Wisconsin Supreme Court rules in their favor.

Michael Gableman knows who they are.

Michael Gableman needs to tell us who were the intermediaries that promised to raise this money to ensure his election, for the Code of Judicial Conduct begins, “Our legal system is based on the principle that an independent and competent judiciary will interpret and apply the laws that govern us,” and goes on to state that judicial candidates should not personally solicit election money.
