8:40 p.m. — A 15-year-old boy was referred to juvenile services for retail theft. He had tried to steal a 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser from the Kwik Trip at 9421 Highway 16.
Monday, March 17
8:06 a.m. — A 22-year-old Sparta man was arrested on the 400 block of Quincy Street for driving while under the influence of drugs, obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia after someone called saying they thought a drug deal was happening. Another man led police on a foot chase. Five people were smoking marijuana in a bedroom while a 10-month-old baby was asleep in the living room.

8 a.m. — A 49-year-old woman on the 1000 block of Canary Lane reported a possible identity theft problem. When her husband attempted to submit an electronic tax return, they kept getting an error message saying “this taxpayer’s spouse has been claimed as a dependent on someone else’s return.”
3:03 p.m. — A 30-year-old man was arrested for retail theft and a probation hold after attempting to conceal and steal two bottles of Robitussin valued at $11.18. He was on probation for drug offenses.

4:18 p.m. — A 37-year-old man was arrested on the 700 block of Second Avenue North for domestic battery and disorderly conduct. He had struck his girlfriend on the left side of her head when she told him to pack up his things and get out.
7:43 p.m. — A 45-year-old man on the 500 block of 21st Avenue South reported possible fraud involving a false telephone account. He had received a delinquent bill for $400 for service at an apartment complex in Trempealeau where neither he nor his family ever lived.
9:23 p.m. — A 42-year-old woman on the 1200 block of Fairfield Place reported receiving harassing phone calls from an unknown caller.
Friday, March 21
9:11 p.m. — The manager at the Toys R Us store in Onalaska reported suspicious activity. A male suspect was trying to pull a quick-change scam on the cashier. He asked the cashier to exchange five $20 bills for a $100 bill, which the cashier did. He turned around. Then turned back to the cashier saying she only gave him a $10. The till was correct when counted out; the suspect left the store.

7:53 p.m. — A 41-year-old woman on the 500 block of Chestnut Drive reported receiving phone calls every Friday night and Saturday between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. The phone number that was identified belonged to a telemarketing company in the country of Nepal.

Saturday, March 15
6 p.m. — Police responded to the 1500 block of Cliffview Drive for a 14-year-old boy who was spitting at people, arguing and threatening others. Peace was restored.
Sunday, March 16
6:58 a.m. — Police responded to a fire call on the 1000 block of McHugh Road. It was a false alarm.
8:06 p.m. — Police responded to an alarm on the 400 block of First Avenue South due to a carbon monoxide detector going off. There were no injuries, and it appeared to be a false alarm.
8:53 p.m. — Police assisted a person on the 800 block of Judith Court who was having difficulty breathing.
9:44 p.m. — Holmen police assisted the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department in stopping a driver who was driving erratically on the 8400 block of Highway 35.

11:58 a.m. — A student was removed from Evergreen Elementary School for being disruptive and transported to Family and Children’s Center.
Thursday, March 20
2:54 p.m. — Police were called to a domestic disturbance on the 7100 block of North Elizabeth Drive. A 17-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and battery for hitting his 19-year-old girlfriend, forcing his way into the house she was at and swinging open the front door hard enough to make the doorknob go through the wall.
4:42 p.m. — A complaint was called in from the 400 block of Morris Street because of loud music and banging on the floor. Painters were supposed to be painting an apartment there.

9:58 p.m. — Police gave a cleaning person in one of the apartments on the 400 block of Morris Street a verbal warning due to complaints of loud music.
Saturday, March 22
12:58 a.m. — Holmen police assisted the La Crosse County Sheriff’s department with a domestic disturbance in the town of Onalaska. Someone reported a car in the ditch just north of Coaches Bar. Someone was trying to give them a ride and a woman jumped out by the bar. Her boyfriend had her out on the bike trail by MC’s Bar and was hitting her.
2:11 p.m. — Police assisted a person on the 1000 block of Eastwood Street who was having a seizure.

2:25 a.m. — Police received noise complaints from the 600 block of Meadow Court, where a party was occurring and several people under 21 were out revving engines and making noise. They were given verbal warnings.
7:09 p.m. — Police assisted a woman on the 100 block of Buckingham Lane who recently had hernia surgery and was bleeding from the incision.

12:49 a.m. — Police found an open door at a business on the 100 block of Ryan Street. There was no evidence of theft or breakage and the facility was locked up by police.
