The April Luther Light is senior Jonas Gertsch, son of Colynn and Lori Gertsch of Sparta. Jonas attended St. John’s Lutheran School of Sparta before coming to Luther.
Jonas has participated in track all four years, qualifying for state his junior year. Jonas has been active in drama as well as a member of Concert Choir and Sound Foundation. He is a member of the National Honor Society. Last summer, Jonas attended Badger Boys State in Ripon, Wis.
Jonas is active in his church’s youth group, participating in chancel dramas and singing in services. In the community, he has participated in the annual cancer walk in Sparta. In his free time, Jonas enjoys playing tennis, inline skating, video gaming and watching movies with his friends.
Jonas plans to attend Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, to study in the pre-pharmacy program.
