When Onalaska and Holmen area students do well, we want to hear about it. The Onalaska Community Life and Holmen Courier publish news about student achievements from elementary to college. Here is the latest good news about Onalaska and Holmen area students:
Kyle Edmunds, a senior at Onalaska High School, was selected as a recipient of this year’s Coulee Region Engineering Scholarship. The son of John and Denise Edmunds, he plans to attend UW-Madison in the fall to study chemical engineering.
Mai Ia Vue of Holmen, a student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, won two of 12 awards given at the school’s annual All-Students Juried Exhibition. She was given the Richard Koehler Art Award for her “Hmong in Modern America” series of photographs and the James Quillin Art Award for a digital image, “Metamorphosis.” This year, judges worked with 133 entries from 55 student artists.
Army Pvt. Eric E. Cadogan has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Cadogan earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Lois Cadogan of Onalaska.
Army National Guard Pvt. Stephanie Battaglia has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. A 2004 graduate of Holmen High School, Battaglia is the daughter of Stephen Battaglia of Via Caudaloso, Mission Viejo, Calif.
The following Holmen High School accounting students qualified to move on to the next level of competition April 23 in the Twin Cities based on their performance at the regional Junior Achievement Titan Business Competition: Morgan Ayed, Kendell Hafner, Brittany Hougom, Tim Jeske, Kayla Oliver, Ethan Pedretti, Danielle Schank, Brandon Temte and Kaitlyn Wing.
