The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska police

Monday, April 14

6:28 p.m. — A 47-year-old Winona man was arrested for retail theft for trying to steal several lobster tails from the Woodman’s store on Highway 16. The value of the lobster was $306.80. He also was charged with obstructing, disorderly conduct and bail jumping and had an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, April 15

10:45 a.m. — A 28-year-old La Crosse man was arrested for retail theft after stealing a number of items from the Menards on Sand Lake Road. He concealed merchandise valued at $599.94. and almost $600 from the Farm & Fleet on Highway 16. Store security confronted him and he threw $260 in cash at the store employee and ran from the store. He was later picked up at the Kwik Trip on Highway 16 and S. Kinney Coulee Road and charged with multiple counts of retail theft.

9:50 p.m. — A town of Campbell police officer who lives in Onalaska reported two hand guns and a bullet resistant vest had been stolen while he was out of town. His daughter had had several people to the home and four individuals are suspected of removing the material from the house.

Thursday, April 17

6:10 p.m. — A 33-year-old woman reported on the 500 block of Sixth Avenue North reported fraudulent charges on her credit card. Five purchases were made with the card before the illegal activity was discovered. The credit card has been cancelled.

Saturday, April 19

4:20 a.m. — A 19-year-old Holmen man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when he was stopped for a traffic violation on Main Street. A search of the vehicle revealed a plastic baggie containing 11 grams of marijuana and a one-hitter pipe.

Sunday, April 20

2:26 p.m. — A 52-year-old woman on the 1300 block of Cliffview Avenue reported someone had shot her fence with a paintball gun and threw rocks over the fence into the swimming pool.

4:23 p.m. — Two juveniles were arrested for trespassing and obstructing after being seen in a shed belonging to a 52-year-old woman on the 300 block of Carter Place. One of them admitted to being in the shed, but said the other wasn’t and they didn’t take anything. A witness indicated both had been in the shed.

Friday, April 11

2:30 p.m. — A woman on the 1500 block of Wolf Drive called to report her 8-month-old child had been playing on the floor and the family cat bit him.

Saturday, April 12

11:23 p.m. — An 18-year-old woman was babysitting on the 3000 block of South Pleasant Drive and when she left she found her car had been vandalized. Vaseline, white liquid shoe polish and glitter covered the car. The woman said a bunch of kids were seen running from her car but they denied doing anything and no evidence of any of the materials was on them.

Sunday, April 13

1:54 a.m. — A person in a residence on the 700 block of Ulman Street was given a verbal warning after neighbors complained of loud music.

8:13 p.m. — A resident on the 1100 block of Second Avenue East reported receiving nuisance phone calls late at night.

Monday, April 14

2:41 p.m. — A 12-year-old boy was taken into custody from the Family and Children’s Center after striking another boy in the face and being belligerent with staff. When police arrived he asked to be taken to the juvenile detention center.

4:12 p.m. — Parents of a 14-year-old boy reported he had been harassed and battered by another boy at his school. He had bruising on his biceps and forearm. He said it happens on the bus and at the school but no one does anything to stop it.

Tuesday, April 15

1:40 p.m. — Police responded to a call to the Village View Addition for assistance with a 66-year-old man who was unresponsive and having tremors on one side of his body.

11:32 p.m. — Police responded to a call on the 300 block of Mallard Drive for a 21-year-old man who was having suicidal thoughts and wouldn’t stay in the house because he would take a knife to use on himself. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital.

Thursday, April 17

12:02 a.m. — Police responded to a call for assistance on Long Coulee Drive for a woman who fell, hit her head and was bleeding.

9:21 a.m. — A 16-year-old boy was warned about his abusive behavior towards a girl in school. Her mother called to complain he was following her and saying nasty things such as he was going to kill all chicks.

1:14 p.m. — A 12-year-old boy at the Family and Children’s Center was charged with disorderly conduct for being physically abusive with staff.

Friday, April 18

9:03 p.m. — A 22-year-old Onalaska man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and domestic battery after starting a fight in a car driven by his step-father. The stepfather was driving and the young man punched him from the backseat. They stopped the car and the stepfather allegedly went after the young man punching him. The step-father said the young man hit him first. The stepfather had a broken nose and contusions on his face.

12:41 a.m. — First responder call on County Road ZM for a person with chest pain.

1:50 p.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for a person with chest pain.

1:53 p.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person with a traumatic injury.

6:01 p.m. — First responder call on Wilson Street for a sports-related injury

Wednesday, April 16

8:17 a.m. — First responder call on Carter Place for a person with an unknown medical problem.

10:03 a.m. — First responder call on Carter place for a person with chest pain.

10:38 a.m. — First responder call on Sand Lake Road for a person with a breathing problem.

10:44 a.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a man that was unresponsive.

5:16 p.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for a person with a head injury.

5:22 p.m. — First responder call on Theater Road for a person having a seizure.

6:32 p.m. — First responder call on Fairway Creek Drive for someone possibly having a stroke.

7:23 p.m. — First responder call on Sixth Avenue North for an unknown medical problem.

Thursday, April 17

1:20 p.m. — Fire call on Quincy Street for a bomb scare where no bomb was found.

4:04 p.m. — First responder call on Hope Court for a person that was ill.

11:58 p.m. — First responder call on Oak Avenue South and Elm Street to help police with a person in custody.

Friday, April 18

6:41 p.m. — Fire call on the 100 block of Main Street for a water problem.

7:43 p.m. — First responder call on Eighth Avenue South for a person with a heart problem.

9:23 p.m. — First responder call on Johnson Street for a fight.

Saturday, April 19

1:49 a.m. — First responder call on Schafer Drive for a person with a diabetic problem.

11:43 a.m. — Fire call on Third Avenue South for a carbon monoxide incident.

8:23 p.m. — First responder call on Koss Road for a person involved in a fall.

Sunday, April 20

12:58 a.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person having difficulty breathing.

8:27 a.m. — First responder call on County PH for a person injured in a fall.

6:07 p.m. — Fire call on 10th Avenue North to assist police.

Monday, April 21

12:01 a.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person having difficulty breathing.

4:01 a.m. — First responder call on Seventh Avenue North for a person having chest pain.
