The new Onalaska mayoral administration is taking shape. At a special meeting of the Onalaska Common Council Saturday morning, some council committess were rearranged and new community members were appointed to numerous committees of the city government.
This article highlights some of the changes to committees. A full listing of committees and committee members will be posted on the Web at www.onalaskalife.com when it is available.
Bob Muth, 2nd District alderman, has some new committee assignments. He is now an alternate for the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of Public Works, vice chair of the Plan Commission and chair of the Plan Commission Subcommittee.
As the new alderman for the 1st District, Dennis Aspenson sits on the Community Development Authority, replaces Mayor Mike Giese, formerly an alderman, as the chair of the Tourism Commission and replaces Muth on the Utilities Committee and Cable Franchise Negotiations Committee.

Giese combined two committees to form a new one. A new committee, the Board of Building Appeals, combines the Board of Electrical Examiners and Board of Gas Examiners. It consists of Mike Schneider as a gas service representative, Steve Mutch as electrician representative, Robert Erickson as a citizen representative, Bill Buchner as plumber representative and Todd Neumeister as building contractor representative.

Mark Kennedy replaces Tom Kennedy on the Plan Commission.
Jeff Fleig replaces Lloyd Wuensch on the Police and Fire Commission.
The Technology Advisory Commission has a few new faces. Janice Ward, Jim Strack and Trevor Jones have replaced Andy Gartner, Chris Muller and James Wine. Giese had recommended John Sarnowski be appointed to the commission, but council members did not make a decision.
