The hunt begins Monday morning for the Onalaska Sunfish Days medallion, with a prize package worth about $500 awaiting the finder.
One clue per weekday will be released starting May 12, and there are several ways to learn these clues. The La Crosse Tribune will publish the clues daily in the classified ads section, and radio stations with the La Crosse Radio Group will air them in the morning.
Clues also will be posted on the Web at www.onalaskalife.com, www.holmencourier.com and www.onalaskasunfishdays.com. The medallion hunt is sponsored by the Onalaska Area Jaycees.
The black plastic fish medallion has “Sunfish Days” written on it, as well as a phone number that the finder can call to claim the prize package.
The medallion won’t be wrapped in anything and will be hidden at eye level or below, so no climbing will be needed to find the medallion.
