Holmen authorities are searching for three men who broke into a Holmen residence early Sunday and demanded money at gunpoint while striking the homeowner in the head.

A 23-year-old female, 21-year-old male and their 18-month-old daughter woke to find the three masked men in the bedroom of their residence in the Coulee Region Acres mobile home park off Highway 35 about 5:30 a.m., said Holmen Police Chief Mike McHugh.

The men demanded money from the couple and two began to hit the male in the face while the third armed suspect led the woman out of the bedroom toward her purse, he said.

The armed man held the infant while the woman searched for money. The suspects fled without obtaining money after learning she called 911 from her cell phone, McHugh said.

“Certainly these people are dangerous,” he said.

The male was treated for cuts to his head but was not taken to a hospital. The woman and child were uninjured.

“We believe these people were known by the suspects and targeted for a specific reason, but we don’t why,” McHugh said.

The suspects are described as black males between 18 and 25 years old, at least 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

Early Wednesday, police said they were seeking 21-year-old Oliver Odulana for questioning in connection with the incident.

McHugh advised residents to lock their doors and call 911 to report suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about the home invasion is asked to call 911, Holmen police at 526-4212 or Crime Stoppers at (608) 784-TIPS or 1-800-947-3577.
