The Holmen Kornfest Medallion was found Monday by Shelly LaPlount of Holmen and her children, 4-year-old Brooke and 8-year-old Charlie. The medallion was found next to the Holmen sign on the north end of town on Holmen Drive.

This year the Holmen Lioness Club, which sponsors the hunt, tried a different approach, posting a clue per day Monday through Thursday at area merchants starting Aug. 4. The medallion was found after the fifth of eight clues.

Here is the complete set of clues for the 2008 medallion hunt:

It’s Kornfest time, so come take heed, there’s treasure to be found.

So where is it? And what’s the clue? Let’s say it’s just around.

Look high, look low, look up, look down and even straight ahead.

I’m hiding near what may be white, or maybe even read.

Grass may grow quite tall near here, and no one seems to mow it.

Medallion hunters will not mind, or leastwise they won’t show it.

The Lionesses want you to think and guess and even search,

Your odds are best if you’re at least within sight of a church.

Watch for cars and watch your step on your quest for me.

If you look just to the east, pavement you may see.

Do the circles fit the square, or is it the reverse?

Either way, that is a clue, now watch out for the hearse.

If you think I’m hard to find, and you start to whine,

You’re getting closer signals say, or is it just a sign?

There are great things to do and join, in this place we call our home,

Holmen pride welcomes us back when we’re inclined to roam.
